Samurai Archer - Completed!

This is a project I started back in October. Although I haven't been working on it continuously since then, it has taken up a lot of my painting time over the last few months. If you're curious to see how it all came together, check out the WIP thread here.

The figure is Pegaso's 90mm "Samurai Warrior, Late Heian Period." It is painted using acrylics and all of the design work on the figure was done freehand. Definitely the most complicated figure I've painted to date. The overlapping armor pieces and equipment required this piece to be painted and assembled in stages. It was a ton of work (I've no plans to paint another samurai for a looooooong time), but I'm extremely happy with the end result. I'll be taking him with me to a competition this weekend, so hopefully the judges there will like him!

Couple quick notes on the figure... the original sculpt had a mustache and what I suppose what I've only heard described as a soul patch. I wasn't a big fan, so I carefully filed them off before painting. Because the armor and equipment are so complex, I choose a very simple color scheme (purple - orange - green + white/black) and used that to help tie everything together visually.

I hope you like the end result. Oh, and there are still a few days before the competition, so let me know if you see anything that needs to be fixed! :)
